Preemployment Assistance

- Assistance in preparing a resume for you
- Determining your eligibility for financial aid
- Instruction to how to complete an online FAFSA application for financial assistance for schooling
- Help with filing Unemployment Insurance claims
- Information about area schools, programs and apprenticeship opportunities
- Use of computers for GED preparation
- Access to books and videos on job seeking and career planning
- Career counseling, planning and guidance
Training Services
- Training for a new career in a high-demand occupation
- Skill upgrading and retraining
- Job readiness training
- Assistance with applying for financial aid
- Adult education and literacy activities
- Entrepreneurial training (how to be your own boss)
On-the-Job Training (OJT)
- Earn while you learn on the job
- Find out if a certain line of work is right for you
- Your employer is reimbursed for up to half of the cost of your pay while you train, with funds provided by Iowa Employment Solutions @ DMACC
Support Services
Support services are provided by the Iowa Works program to help qualifying Central Iowans take part in training activities. They can include:

- Dependent and child care
- Financial assistance
- Health care
- Relocation assistance
- Residential/meals
- Services for people with disabilities
- Transportation assistance
